Key Concepts Reflection

Module 3 ''Creating Effective Lesson Plans with AI and Design Thinking'', expanded my understanding of the vast AI landscape and equipped me with additional tools for educational purposes. As a teacher, I found the AI tools integration into lesson planning to be a transformative approach to education.

A key learning reflection from this module is the synergy between general and specific AI applications in crafting comprehensive lesson plans. While general AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini offer broad capabilities for brainstorming and initial content generation, the specific AI tools tailored for curriculum alignment and standard adherence ensure that our lessons remain focused on educational purposes to facilitate the teachers' lives.

The most exciting for me in this module was the potential of combining AI with Design Thinking principles to create personalized educational resources. This approach allows for the development of targeted materials such as listening exercises, customized readings, and speaking activities that cater to individual student needs. The ability to iteratively improve lesson plans with AI-generated, personalized practices is particularly fantastic because it improves the students' engagement in each class.

This module has illuminated the potential for AI not only to streamline the lesson planning process but also to elevate the quality and relevance of educational content. As an aspiring educator, I'm eager to explore how these tools can be ethically and effectively implemented to create more dynamic, inclusive, and effective learning experiences.

Conclusion and Key learning

Firstly, Module 3 of the "Creating Effective Lesson Plans with AI and Design Thinking" course has demonstrated the revolutionary potential of AI in education. Subsequently, it introduced us to both general and specific AI tools for lesson planning, showcasing their complementary roles. The module focuses on the practical applications of AI in creating curriculum-aligned lesson plans, so the most difficult assignment for this module was the correct prompting to make the lesson plan or the study plan.

Following this, it explored the exciting tools of AI and Design Thinking in developing tailored educational resources; then we learned about crafting various AI-generated materials, from listening exercises to speaking activities. Additionally, the module emphasized the iterative nature of lesson planning, highlighting how AI can continuously refine and personalize learning materials and improve teachers' lives.  From creating a Study plan in phases (a new thing for many of us) on Claude (an AI assistant from Anthropic) up to personalized a lesson plan, creating teaching resources and assessments in Eduaide; thus,  module 3 concluded by illustrating how these AI-enhanced approaches can significantly improve the overall quality and effectiveness of lesson plans.

Finally, this module has equipped us with valuable insights and practical skills to take advantage of the AI tools in educational design, paving the way for more innovative, personalized, and engaging learning experiences.

Content created with AI

This is a summary of the content created in this module. The principal AI that I liked and used was Claude, but what is Claude? R/  Claude is an AI assistant created by Anthropic. The AI answered ''I'm designed to help with a wide variety of tasks including analysis, writing, math, coding, and general discussion''. ''I aim to be helpful, honest, and direct in my interactions''.

Another AI that we learned how to use was ''Comenio'' where we can plan classes, create materials and evaluate our students in seconds with Artificial intelligence.

Also,  the most important of module 3 was the creation of the study plan or lesson plan in Claude, Chat GPT, Magic School, or Copilot. As a group, we tried these AI by making prompts to work in the activity in which we had to create a lesson plan using AI; consequently, we used Claude because it was the best AI according to our needs.
